"Here I am wrapped in my woolens making a Decoupage card for Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr , I have been asked to participate and provide inspiration this time .

The theme is just perfect , for me winter means a cup of steaming tea/coffee , enjoying the sunshine and of course Christmas !

I am a PG in English Literature, B.Ed deeply interested in arts and crafts. After a very long hiatus I have revived my interests and have befriended the internet to learn several new hobbies . My blogs showcase my work and also fulfill my need for writing . Creativity has no age bar thankfully and I am loving it !!

Decoupage sheets are available in the market and one can make beautiful personalized cards with a little effort. Sending handmade cards is a beautiful way of conveying warmth and love , it’s a time well spent indeed."

Challenge 5: Mallika's Inspiration

If you were wondering about the lack of inspirations in the challenge here it is - showcasing each of the winners from the past 2 challenges to provide an inspiration - one inspiration a day

And here I present Maillika  to you. About the card and and about her - in her own words :)

"Now  a little description about my card -

I practically made this card at 4 in the morning . Well this is my first ever try for Christmas card .I have quilled the Christmas tree, used mosaic squares for the small squares .

The patterned paper is internet download and all the edges are distressed by using simple stamp pad . I have used some colored pearls .I  love this festival and every Christmas I love gifting goodies  to my friends ! Yes ! yes ! i will be posting a candy soon on my blog .Do take part .
Happy Crafting !!

Hi Girls !
I am Mallika ..an  Engineering  Under Grad  who has least interest in any part of this  engineering .It is my passion and love for art and crafts  which has bought me all the way to BlogLand !

All the time I am free I love to craft .It  was like in Sept 2010 when I entered this card making world . My cards are bright , fun , whimsy and full of fine details throughout .I trust people because there is good in all of us and it takes a lot for someone to loose that trust . I appreciate  smaller things in my life which earlier I use to take for granted . I believe in believing myself . My life has never been a fairy tale but whats the harm if I believe that one day it will be a fairy tale. Besides crafting I just loved getting myself photographed. Yes ! I get dramatic at times . I sing ( pathetic ) , I dance ( sheila ki jawani ) , I laugh , I cry on small things . My life has always been a roller coaster ride with loads of ups and downs. I was sent to boarding school ( Scindia ) when I was mere 12 .Till then I have always stayed in hostels ( they can be scary at night ) , which simply implies I HAVE LOADS OF FRIENDS AND I LOVE THEM A LOT .6 months back I was suffering from an addiction called Facebook and now I am suffering from Card Making addiction which is doing some good and gives me personal satisfaction .
My blog Address -

Isn't that card soo beautiful!! Loved it! Now, off you go and please leave some love to Mallika :)

And do join in the Brrrrrrrrrrrrr fun. And play to win some very nice goodies :)

CraftyJC Challenge 4 – DT's Choice: Indian Ethnic

Heloo girls :)

If you are sad Diwali has passed by, here is something to cheer you up! Our lovely DTs for this challenge are bringing you lovely Diwali wishes to you :) again :)  Hope your Diwali was wonderful and here is to a wonderful year ahead

This theme challenge was by the winner for the 2nd challenge winner:  Kavitha.

A few months back a lovely lady called Suzana Napret sent me a lovely set of diecuts & stamped imaged to be given as a prize to a winner here. I've been hoarding it for Diwali. Thanks Suazana :)

And Sazana also has sent an awesome inspiration for us this month

I love what Suzana has created here, The wonderful stitching and the Diya shape - how original!
Thanks Suzana for sponsoring this gift. You have a a large heart :)

Hi all, kavitha here.I am a freelance artist, love to do all kind of art works, and my wish is learn almost all the crafts in this world.I know i am to greedy,as there are thousands of art works are there in this world, but i am trying my best to learn more.So my only aim to  keep on learning new some thing, and internet and blogs are the best inspiration to learn new things.I am blessed to have my hobby as profession,i love my colorful job:)))
It's been 11/4 years of blogging now,and its been a wonderful experience so far.Got lots of friends, and loads of ideas,...my latest craze is paper crafts,i am totally in love with making cards and scrap books.
I am really honoured   to be the part of Crafty JC challenge#4,,hats off to jaya who make this blog so wonderful and connects of all our Indian crafters together,.:)

Hi I'm Juhi...I am an electronics engineer who works with a semiconductor company at Bangalore. I discovered cardmaking almost two years ago and it has become almost an obsession now.
I love working with bright colors. My color inspiration comes from the rich textures and colors of Indian handmade paper. Since very few scrapbooking/cardmaking products are available in India I try to make the most of locally available materials which is intimidating at times but huge fun most of the times as it helps me think out of the box. I like to combine different styles and techniques in my work, and don't usually stick to any particular style/technique for long.
I'd like to thank Jaya for giving me this opportunity to be a guest DT member this month. I hope you like my ethnic Indian card, which draws inspiration from the traditional Indian paisley pattern. I have used a stamped paisley border at the bottom to create a saree border effect.

Hello gals, this is Dolly here.. Also known as Kishley, the name i just adore. I have blogged with that name since last 5 years, my real name came out only when people from blog world started pouring over in my offline world too. I dont mind that though :)

My love for things made with paper started very early, probably in school days. From paintings to figurines to sketching, I loved doing everything. I have created a lot of wonderful things even when there was no free access to internet or to craft supllies store. I am not too modest you see..

Paper crafting today has a totally different meaning now, there is so much available and so much 'inspirations' floating around. In this plethora of ideas, I'm still trying to figure out my style of working. I still love to do anything and everything when i sit down to make something. I have made elaborate cards, simple cards, bling cards, stamped cards, sketched card.. ok i hope you get the idea.. But i do know that its difficult for me to make something for a challenge. I somehow cannot make my mind to think of something in boundaries, I usually start by taking out random things and start making anything with them..

The card i made for this challenge has been made from old wedding invites, I have used 4 different invites to make this card, and took about 2 hours.
Thanks Jaya for letting me on your DT team for this month. Kepp up the good work!"

Stunning Cards isn't it??? Now off you jump in and post your cards :) The last day is 30 November. Slightly extended due to the delay.

PS: Absolutely sorry for the delay in this post. I was sooo looking forward to challenge specifically. Still no internet.

Tejal here...I'm a physiotherapist turned card-maker. I've been crafting since as long as I can remember. My first step into this world of card making/rubber stamping
came when I first stepped into hobby ideas and picked up my first rubber stamp set. Not knowing how to use it, I turned to the internet. And what a world it has opened up for me. I still remember the first blog that swept me off my feet was Maria Bell's. Since that day I've been hooked. And every day, I learn something new.

It has been 3 years that I've been making cards and it was in March this year that I met Smita thorough Dina's blog. What a world..It took me leaps across the sea to find my own neighbor!! And through her blog, I've found so many wonderful girls (I will still call you girls even when you're all 60) that share this passion (what others call madness). Thank you all for all the kind words and support along  the way.
I love the clean and uncluttered look of making cards and that's what you will find in most of my cards. . And that's why I love the images from Karen's Doodles, they're clean and super easy to color in. Many thanks to them for giving me a chance to work with their lovely images.
Thanks to Jaya for starting something so wonderful, something just for us. And it is an honor to be DT for this wonderful Challenge.
Good luck to you all! Have fun”

Ashmita

Ash’s Inspiration is a poster of the movie Alice in Wonderland. Loved that movie!

Ash-12_thumb[3]
I am a MA in Mass comm. I used to work for a TV production house. I married my best friend and now I am taking a break from my profession. Crafting has always been my hobby but as a student I never found time to develop my passion for it. Now I have adequate time to dedicate to crafting and doing lots of other things i love like gardening, bonsai, terrarium DIY home decor projects . I started crafting 3 years ago when i got married and started on a scrapbook of my hubby and me and now am a avid crafter and love to live my theme “LIVING THE HANDMADE LIFE”
I have been blogging for just 3 months and the response i have received is just overwhelming. I am so happy to meet all my Indian fellow scrappers. I hope to make a lot of friends and also wish that i can learn new things and also teach whatever little i know.
I really thank Jaya for giving me this opportunity to be a guest DT this month and i hope you like my card. Its as usual its different and vintagyy which is my style. My inspiration is this poster of the movie Alice in Wonderland”

Sudha Kalra

Sudha’s inspiration is Nature and below is her cute flower-power take on that. You can base your inspiration on Sudha’s card

Sudha_Kalra_thumb[1]

Hi all, I am Sudha, - Artist, Art and Craft teacher, love to do painting, drawing, sketching, pottery, card making everything artistic and creative. I am damn crazy about exploring and learning new techniques related to Art specially card making.

I congrats Jaya to start this “Challenge Blog” first ever in India and thank her for giving me opportunity to show my work as a DT member. Its such a big opportunity for me. I am so glad and enjoy as a DT member this month.

This month theme is – “ An Inspiration”. My biggest inspiration is Nature. I used to capture nature in my works. So I made a card along with its envelop, inspired by my biggest inspiration – Nature and reminds everyone about the beauty and the power of nature.”

Phew! Such GORGEOUS inspiration.  Please leave some love to these wonderful DT I’ve been SOO lucky to work with.

And now – jump in! Choose your inspiration – any of our DT’s inspirations – and base your entry on that! Have fun girls :))

It is such an honour to be part of Indian crafters history :) Yes, of
course, this challenge blog is creating history for us.
We've all been feeling bad because we don't have access to
International supplies. But here is this beautiful blog that is making
us go back to our creative roots, to the time when we all started
crafting, when we didn't bother about supplies as much as we did about
creativity and innovation. :)
My card is an almost maiden attempt at an acetate based card. I loved
the image I've used and would like to thank Jaya and Diane for it.

Do leave some love to Joan and the Designers.

Please add your links below. If you don't have a blog - email me at mail.craftyjc(at)gmail.com

Sponsors and Amendments

Thanks girls for all the wonderful feedback and encouragement.
I've be talking to many designers for sponsors. Mostly they are Digital Designers as Sponsors.

That open up a  wonderful avenue to many of ur - if you haven't started digital stamping

I'll try and put together some details, costs and such info on how to go about digital stamping. I hope that would help.

A slight amendment. I'll pick TWO comments from the previous blog as Guest DT for the next two challenges. And hence forth the a random participant would make up the DT along with the winner. By this I hope we'd have more inspiration :)

Cheers,
Jaya
